Slicers are the tools that take your 3D model and turn it into a set of instructions for your 3D printer to follow. There are a lot of slicers out there, and they all have their own quirks and features. We have a few recommendations for slicers, but you can use whatever you want.

PrusaSlicer

PrusaSlicer is the slicer software that we use for our Prusa printers, and it includes support for all our other printers except the Creality CR-30 Belt Printer. It is a fork of the popular Slic3r software, and is a great tool for slicing your 3D models. You can download it from the PrusaSlicer website.

PrusaSlicer Configuration

You’ll need to get it configured for our printers. Add the default Prusa I3 MK3S+ printer profile with a .4mm nozzle.

To add the other printers, go the Other Vendors section and add the following printers:

  • Creality Ender 3
  • Creality Ender 5 Plus
Select Creality from other vendors
Add the Ender 3 and Ender 5 Plus

Once you add your printers, you’re ready to start printing.

PrusaSlicer Slicing Settings

Select the type of filament you’re using. This will change the settings for the slicer. Then, select the layer height (quality), infill (infill), and support (support) settings you’d like to use.

Hit the Slice Now button to slice your model, and then you can save the gcode file to the SD card.

Cura

Cura is the slicer software that we use for our Creality printers. It is a great tool for slicing your 3D models. You can download it from the Ultimaker website.
